The Mount Carroll City Council met June 23, 2026, at the Davis Community Center and carried a series of routine motions, including approval of the June 9 meeting minutes and authorization of $36,081.84 in accounts payable.
Council financial reports showed a balance of $4,385,533.35. The Water and Sewer Committee reported that parking-lot crack filling was completed at a cost of $1,700, crews identified sewer lateral roots and ordered additional hydrant valves, a curb stop will be replaced, and staff plan to attend an OSHA-required safety seminar on July 9, 2026. A follow-up check of lines at 807 S. Clay Street identified roughly 7–10 gallons of water running behind the Farm Bureau and staff plan to install a sewer line to investigate.
Under new business, the council approved sponsoring a Community Day at the municipal pool at a cost of $150 and granted a roadblock permit allowing Mt. Carroll Pub and Gaming to use outdoor seating and musical entertainment for the July 4 celebration. The council accepted multiple sealed bids for surplus equipment, awarding items to the highest or only bidders and ordering some unsold items scrapped. The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
