The owner of Uncle Mochi asked the Board for permission to place a sign on the sidewalk near parking meters outside his store.
Deputy Mayor Eric G. Brown told Chaya Harari that placing a sign on the sidewalk could create a tripping hazard and that village regulations do not permit such signs. "Someone may trip over this sign," Brown said, and the Board advised against placing it.
No formal waiver or variance was proposed or voted on at the meeting. The business owner was advised to follow existing Village Code and not place the sign on the sidewalk.
