The Gilroy Unified School District board on August 6 approved a statutory 45-day budget revision that adds an $8,700,000 one-time student-support and professional-development block grant to the district’s books.
Presenting the revision, district fiscal staff told trustees they could not yet estimate the district’s share of a statewide SELPA reallocation or fully quantify associated expenditure impacts. "We're all awaiting the same info," the presenter said, noting that SELPA worksheets and reallocations remained in process. The presenter also called out a $4 million prior-year shortfall tied to Prop 98 carryforward treatment.
