County approves one-year START peer mentor subgrant with Integrated Services Behavioral Health

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners on June 22 approved a one-year extension of a subgrant agreement between the Fayette County Department of Job and Family Services and Integrated Services Behavioral Health to provide a START (Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Team) Peer Mentor. The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with an option for one-year extensions through June 30, 2028. Commissioner Donald L. Fleak moved to approve the extension per the request of Faye Williamson, Director of Fayette County Department of Job and Family Services; Commissioner Tony Anderson seconded and the motion carried on a unanimous roll call.
The minutes state: "Maximum amount payable under the contract is $66,500.00 and will be funded by grants awarded to the Public Children Services Association of Ohio (PCSAO)." The mentor will serve families referred by the public children services agency when substance abuse is the primary risk factor. The board recorded the funding source as grants awarded to PCSAO; the county’s action authorizes the contract but indicates funding comes through the regional/state grant mechanism administered by PCSAO.
