Residents ask Cedarhurst to commission traffic study and remove meters on Washington Avenue

Several residents urged the Board to address parking and traffic on Washington Avenue at the July 13 meeting. Michael Hatten of 56 Washington Avenue asked whether a traffic study had been done before the expansion of Lot #10 and said he “would like the meters removed from Washington Avenue between Broadway and Central Avenue.” He also filed a petition asking the Village to designate that stretch a No Parking Zone.
Mayor Benjamin Weinstock responded that a traffic study would be warranted to consider Hatten’s requests and said the Village will publish an RFP to have a traffic study conducted for the area. Trustee Brown later answered a zoning question from Hatten, saying that a commercial or residential structure is allowed on the portion of Carman Avenue referenced by the resident.
