Trustees discussed the tradeoff between noise duration and power: gas backpack commercial equipment completes work much faster than many electric consumer models, but electric units produce less short-term noise. Several trustees flagged the high up-front cost of electric commercial equipment as a barrier for lawn services.
"We had, I think, 265 responses," Chair said, and trustees agreed the topic merits further outreach before a policy change. The board asked staff to circulate the full survey results and prepare a cost analysis comparing commercial and residential transitions for future consideration.
