Treasurer Laura asked trustees to approve a resolution to move $27,115.62 from contingency into the refuse equipment account to cover an overage on garbage equipment, in addition to the $30,000 identified for a new truck. Trustees discussed accounting implications and the prospect of selling the existing truck to offset the cost; staff clarified that the move would affect revenue accounting and fund balance treatment but was technically allowable.
The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote. "The resolution is to move, 27,115 and 62¢ from contingency to refuse equipment," Laura said. Trustees noted this is in addition to previously discussed contingency use for the $30,000 truck purchase and asked that staff track offsetting revenue from the sale of surplus equipment.
