Recount of Sergeant Bluff school measure confirms original results after three-hour machine count

Elections staff told the board that a recount of ballots for Sergeant Bluff public measures took place on Monday and produced no change from the original election results.
A staff member said, "We had our recount on Monday. It took about 3 hours to machine count all of the ballots that were involving the sergeant Bluff public measure ... and the results did not change." The staff member explained the recount process involved a three-member board that included the superintendent of Sergeant Bluff Schools and deputy Hoffmeyer. The official noted this was Woodbury County's first recount since 2010.
Chair thanked the elections office for handling the process and representing Woodbury County during the recount. No board action was required.
