Supervisors hear report on Overlook Subdivision; residents oppose five-lot plan

Supervisor Carper reported on a zoning commission matter concerning the Overlook Subdivision, an application to change part of a 36.5-acre parcel at 2374 252nd Street from agricultural preservation to ag estates.
Carper said the property owner (identified in the packet as Doug Skinner) indicated he does not intend large-scale development and uses the land for hunting; attendees submitted petitions opposing a five-lot subdivision. "This is located at 2374 252nd Street. And it's, the 36.5 acres with application, agricultural preservation the state," Carper said. He said at least 88 people signed to deny the five-lot subdivision and that the county established a restriction limiting only three additional homes on the property. The board was told Mr. Preece will present the item to the board in the next three weeks (dates mentioned: the 9th, 16th and 23rd).
The board did not take action at this meeting; staff will return with the formal presentation and materials for deliberation and potential vote on the scheduled dates.
