Westmoreland board authorizes blanket undertaking (fidelity insurance) and routine financial delegations

The Town Board reviewed and approved a resolution authorizing procurement of a commercial blanket undertaking (fidelity insurance) through National Grange Mutual Insurance via agent Eastern Shore Associates to cover officers, clerks and employees from Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2026. The resolution cites Public Officers Law §11(2) and dispenses with individual undertakings in favor of the blanket policy.
In the same set of administrative motions the board authorized routine financial delegations: the Supervisor may transfer funds into payroll accounts as necessary and may pay gas, electric, health insurance, telephone service contracts, Mohawk Valley Water Authority and Rome Water bills when received. The board also designated the Rome Sentinel as the official newspaper and named the town depository options.
