The Montgomery Library Board confirmed it submitted a Public Facilities Preservation Initiative grant application to the Vermont Department of Libraries on March 31. Trustees recorded that the department is expected to release its decision this summer and discussed parallel fundraising strategies including private giving and targeted grant opportunities.
Board members noted that the Community Development Support (CDS) opportunity was considered but the timing was too tight; the library will reconsider CDS early in 2027. Marlene Hambleton said she is looking into a $2,500 grant, and Daniel Khan said he would continue pursuing potential private donors to support the renovation and expansion project.
