The Montgomery Town Hall Committee said it will meet with a representative from the Preservation Trust of Vermont on April 22 to explore grant funding for needed Town Hall repairs.
Tosca Smith, committee chair, presented a list of building items that need repair or upgrade and said the meeting with the preservation trust is intended to identify potential grant programs. She noted that "a match is typically needed when applying for grant funds," and that the committee needs to consider whether a local match is available.
Members discussed whether funds from the capital improvement account would be available as a match given that some money had been earmarked for the Public Safety Building project. Smith said that after meeting with the Selectboard they believe adequate money will be available for a match if required.
The committee attached the list of needed repairs to the minutes and indicated the list had also been shared with the Selectboard at its April 6 meeting.
