Board approves librarian pay adjustment with back pay; executive session held

The Montgomery Library Board approved a change to the librarian's rate of pay effective July 1, 2025, and authorized back payment of the difference for all hours worked since that effective date. The motion to approve the rate and the back pay was made by Daniel Khan, seconded by Patty Hathaway, and recorded as unanimously approved by the trustees present.
Following that vote, Daniel Khan moved that the board enter executive session at 6:12 p.m. to further discuss compensation details; Chris Dixon-Boles seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board exited executive session at 6:22 p.m. The minutes record that no motion was made regarding the VMERs component of the Library Director position until the Library Treasurer can reconcile average hours worked over the last two quarters with the Town Treasurer.
