Sadie, representing Franklin County NRCD, said the Jewett property floodplain restoration is in final-design field work now, with SLR leading design through June 2027 and implementation more likely in 2028. The presentation also described an "Alt 12" restoration along the Trout River in Montgomery Center with a funding application pending. The NRCD told the board that State Clean Water Funds would support the projects and that no Montgomery town funds are required for the design phase. The board voted to authorize a letter of support (motion by Committee member Daniel Khan; seconded by Mark; approved 5-0).
NRCD requested local support for their pending grant application for final design. The board’s decision to provide a letter allows the applicant to complete the application process required by the funding source. The NRCD presentation noted specific sequencing constraints that inform the design schedule; the consultant SLR will continue field work through mid-2027.
