Board approves Terracon contract for facility assessments tied to mental health hospital

Project Services recommended a contract (020421‑TRC) with Terracon Consultants Inc. to provide facility condition assessments, energy audits, code inspections and asset management planning to support the mental health hospital project.
"Terracon offers facility condition assessments, energy audits, code inspections, space utilization, life cycle cost estimating, and asset management planning," Joe Thomas said. The contract is good through March 24, 2025 and includes a one‑year option to renew. Board members asked whether Terracon was the only consultant on agreement; purchasing staff and project services said this was the first time the county had an agreement of this type for the mental health hospital and that Terracon will perform material testing and related services for that project.
A motion to accept the contract carried on a voice vote. Staff said they expect to exercise the one‑year option as the hospital project completes near the end of 2026.
