Board awards high‑density seal contract for Sedgwick County Zoo parking lots

Public Works presented an engineer's estimate of $128,912.70 for the 2025 high‑density seal project and recommended awarding the contract to the low bidder. "We recommend to accept a bid from Bridal Construction Incorporated in the amount of $88,497.28," Lee Barrier said during the presentation.
Lynn Packer, Public Works, told the board Andale Construction was the only local firm that often performs this type of seal but elected not to bid; mobilization challenges also limit out‑of‑area bidders. Committee member (speaker 5) moved to accept the low bid; the motion passed on a voice vote. The work covers applying aggregate and asphalt sealant and replacing striping for selected parking lots at the Sedgwick County Zoo.
