The Town Board took personnel and procurement steps related to property assessment and school-equalization work.
The board voted to reappoint Leslie Midgley to the Board of Assessment Review for another five-year term. Separately, the board authorized hiring Mike Maxwell Appraisal Services to provide appraisal services for the School Advisory Committee in 2026 at a rate of $175 per hour plus approved expenses; meeting discussion indicated the scope and limits of work will be defined by Dan Vincentelli. A board member asked whether the town had set a cap on hours; the chair responded that scope and limits would be defined for each project and that there is a limit.
During discussion Jack and others said the appraisal work will add credibility to the committee’s submission to the state concerning equalization rates and related school-tax apportionment matters. The contract authorization was carried by voice vote.
