The South Cle Elum Town Council on April 7 authorized Mayor DeVere to sign contract documents for the Townwide Water Main Replacement Project after the town attorney reviewed the construction contract and advised it was ready to sign. Councilmember McGuire moved to give the mayor signing authority; the motion was seconded by Councilmember Sandretto and passed by majority vote.
Public works Superintendent Matt told the council there will be a preconstruction meeting at Town Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He said KRD is predicting a possible water curtailment this summer, and Fury Site Works "has indicated that they want to start work as soon as possible." The council's authorization enables the town to proceed to the construction phase pending standard contract administration steps.
