Residents urge board to place California Forever on county ballot; speakers decry influence of developer funding

Joel Berilu criticized what he described as personal attacks by the project and said Supervisor Mashburn has been a target of the group's tactics. No formal board action was taken at the meeting; several speakers asked the supervisors to agendize a countywide vote and to hold public forums or debates between candidates so voters can hear positions before elections.
