Trustees were told the police chief applied for a Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) grant of $98,000 to equip vehicles with laptops, scanners and other equipment; a trustee said the DCJS contact was optimistic but stressed there are no guarantees because awards are competitive.
Separately, Debbie submitted a court-related grant application to fund a projector, new microphones and speakers, additional chairs and a camera/Zoom setup for the meeting room so the board can display budgets and host hybrid meetings. Chair said Debbie has been successful securing similar grants previously and the board hopes to get this equipment if the grant is awarded.
