"I actually had it jetted back in 2018, and the city actually paid a claim that I actually submitted," West said, describing earlier city involvement. He told council he has current estimates of $20,000 to $30,000 to replace the clay piping with PVC and asked staff to follow up on potential reimbursement or permanent repair. Mayor asked West to provide documentation and staff to follow up with him.
The city clerk confirmed public works will be asked to follow up; the council did not take formal action during the meeting but the mayor invited staff contact to investigate the claim.
