Nassau board extends membership in regional solid-waste authority for one year

Board members said the extension will keep existing service terms unchanged while allowing the authority and its member municipalities to finish work on current projects. Committee member added that the authority had recently approved a budget and that Nassau's share “went up, 750 towers,” a figure the speaker read from the authority's materials, and promised to report back after a January 9 special meeting.
The resolution was adopted during the meeting; members did not direct immediate operational changes for village services. A special meeting of the authority is scheduled Jan. 9, weather permitting, and a village representative said they will attend and report additional details back to the board.
