The Clark Planning Board approved a resolution finding ordinance 26-22 — which deletes a waiver provision from chapter 66 (affordable housing) — consistent with the master plan. A council representative told the board the change was requested to satisfy an agreement with the Fair Share Housing Center so that the township's fourth-round affordable housing plan could be approved as part of a negotiated settlement.
"We were asked to make this change to satisfy the FSHCC's agreement, which is the Fair Share Housing Center when we were meeting with them," the speaker said. Counsel confirmed the change was part of litigation settlement negotiations and was necessary for the township’s affordable-housing plan process. The board moved, seconded and approved the consistency resolution on a roll call that recorded affirmative votes.
