Residents ask about rezoning as South Cle Elum updates Comprehensive Plan

During public comment, a resident identified as Grant asked whether a lot at Main and Milwaukee could be rezoned to permit a single-family residence in the Historic Depot Commercial District. Attorney Jeff Slothower told the council the town is updating its Comprehensive Plan and that the rezoning question would be addressed when the plan is reviewed and adopted later this fall.
Another resident, Michelle Dickenson, returned to ask about progress on the Comprehensive Plan for a single-family residence in the Downtown Business District; clerk Luanne was asked to track progress and notify interested parties. Council did not take an immediate action on rezoning requests and directed staff to include such inquiries in the Comprehensive Plan process.
