The Newport City Council approved the consent calendar and several license renewals, including an entertainment license renewal for Wharf Southern Kitchen (Wharf Pub) and a victualling license for Kelly's Cafe and Pantry under new ownership. Councilor Paloszczuk welcomed the new cafe to the neighborhood during the vote.
Council also confirmed multiple appointments: Sister City Commission appointees Michael Murray, Michelle Gallagher and Joseph Logue; reappointments to the Historic Cemetery Advisory Commission (Lou Keen and James Lapin); Public Sculpture Commission appointments (Paul Miller, Harley H. Tinney, Nancy Grenell and Paul Zappari); and a five-year Trust and Investment Commission appointment (Meg Dodge). All motions were seconded and approved by voice votes.
