Local equestrian teams ask Norco to review arena rates and access policies

Mary Rose Anderson, speaking for the Cal Girls Drill Team, said the team is largely made up of Norco residents and that "regular practice at our own city facility is financially unrealistic" at a quoted $214 per hour. She asked council to "review the rate structure and access policies to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for our community based equestrian drill teams."
Yvette Salcedo, founder of Legendary Cowgirls, echoed that request and said the group would actively promote Norco if given more equitable access. Salcedo noted the group’s promotional reach, stating their social platforms collectively reach about 2,300,000 followers, and asked for "reasonable, consistent rental rates rather than pricing that makes participation unattainable."
Council did not take immediate action during public comment; the speakers asked the council to consider changes to rates and scheduling to support local teams and preserve Norco's equestrian culture.
