Norco honors residents who rescued children from overturned vehicle

The Norco City Council recognized Craig Bond and members of the Patterson family for intervening after an overturned‑vehicle crash on 7th Street on Dec. 18, 2025.
"They saw a vehicle flipped upside down on 7th Street with people trapped inside," a city public‑safety presenter said, recounting that Tim and Claire Patterson, their sons and a neighbor entered the scene, removed a 4‑year‑old and secured a trapped 2‑year‑old until first responders arrived. The city, Riverside County Sheriff's Office and Cal Fire were listed in the recognition.
The council presented pins and asked the family to join the dais for photos. Speakers praised the calm, on‑scene decisions — one child was kept in his seat and soothed by a rescuer who talked about baseball to keep him calm — and the city said it would formally commend the individuals for their actions.
