Trappe council approves routine business: truck sale, minutes, reappointments and maintenance plans
Summary
At its May 7 meeting Trappe approved the sale of a 2001 Chevrolet 3500 to Eric Asmussen for $3,500, approved April minutes, reappointed Edgar Harrison to the Planning Commission, and heard that the water tower will be taken offline for interior cleaning for 3–5 weeks in June.
The council handled several routine items during the meeting. Commissioner Michael Sullivan moved to accept a $3,500 bid from Eric Asmussen for the Town's 2001 Chevrolet 3500; Commissioner Rose Potter seconded and the motion passed unanimously over a lower bid from John Foster. The council also approved the April 2, 2025 Council and workshop minutes by unanimous vote.
President Schmidt reported that Edgar Harrison requested reappointment to the Planning Commission; Commissioner Jeremy Newnam moved to reappoint Mr. Harrison and the council approved the reappointment unanimously. Superintendent Shawn Lane informed the council that Southern Corrosion will perform interior water-tower cleaning in June, requiring the tower to be taken offline for about 3–5 weeks and prompting notices to residents to conserve water during that period.
