The Town of Trappe council voted unanimously March 18 to accept a single bid from Bigg Tyme Trash to provide weekly residential trash pickup.
Town Administrator Erin Braband told the council that bids were due March 17 and the only bid received was from Bigg Tyme Trash at $3.65 per week per residence, which would set the annual charge at $189.80 — an increase of $7.80 from the current $182.00 rate. Braband said trash day would remain on Friday.
Commissioner Rose Potter moved to accept Bigg Tyme Trash’s bid; Commissioner Jeremy Newnam seconded the motion and the council approved it unanimously. The contract award was recorded as a formal motion and approval during the special meeting.
