Trappe council reviews sewer‑lining plan and $75,000 ARPA allocation

Trappe council members met Feb. 12 to review a sewer‑lining proposal from Livingston Septic that would use ARPA funds to repair specific sanitary mains identified by a recent camera inspection. Council and the contractor identified which lines should be prioritized and asked Livingston Septic to submit a detailed plan and cost estimate that includes the price to line mains and the cost to install a required lateral for each affected property.
Chris of Livingston Septic told the council the company would prepare a plan and pricing for the town and offered a routine maintenance option. "Chris also suggested that the Council create a yearly maintenance plan that would allow the Council to cut up the Town into sections and jet and vacuum one section each year so each section is rotating on a 3 year schedule," the minutes state. The company also offered to sign a three‑year contract to provide maintenance and to install liners for any mains the council elects to repair. The council noted $75,000 is budgeted for the project and said it would review the contractor’s price proposal before making a final decision.
