James Cook of Rauch explained that sludge at the Lakeside plant must be hauled to Easton Utilities every six to eight months and that the Town's current permit allows hauling in one direction only. The submitted application would permit hauling from Trappe to Easton, and Attorney Lyndsey Ryan noted the permit must list both Trappe and Trappe East on the discharge permit. Commissioner Jeremy Newnam moved to approve the sludge removal application; Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Cook told the council the developer is financially responsible for costs associated with sludge hauling. The council approved the application and did not add conditions beyond the permit requirements; the timeline for shipments will follow permitting and operational coordination with Easton Utilities.
