The County Council on July 21, 2026 approved several capital purchases for Public Works and Corrections drawn from the FY27 Capital Budget. Public Works Director Matt Ozman requested and received approval to piggyback on Sourcewell contracts to buy a skid steer from Burke Equipment for $95,117.17, a 25-ton equipment trailer from Hale Trailer for $47,301.87, and an HM210 Mulcher Attachment for the Cat 308 mini excavator from Carter Machinery Company, Inc. for $29,113.00.
The Council also voted to confirm a pre-order placed by Warden Don Satterfield for a 2027 Ford Transit through Hertrich Fleet Services at $58,205.00 to replace a 2003 transportation van; the minutes estimate a 12-week delivery period. All purchases were approved by unanimous vote of members present (4-0, Nichols absent) and funded from the FY27 Capital Budget.
