Morton District approves large personnel report including night-school and coaching assignments

The Board of Education approved a broad Personnel Report on Sept. 11 that lists new certified hires, night-school instructors, food-service and security appointments, and coaching and club assignments for the 2024–2025 school year.
Member Sandra Tomschin moved to approve the Personnel Report and Member Fernando Godinez seconded; the motion carried with Member Mark Kraft recorded as abstaining. The minutes list individual hires and assignments by name and role. Examples recorded in the minutes include certified hires Victoria Ayala (English teacher, Morton West; replacement for Camilla Stefl, effective Aug. 22, 2024) and Karl Pineda (Public Safety: Fire Science teacher, Morton West; effective Aug. 30, 2024). The report also enumerates night-school teaching appointments and many coaching/club advisors for both Morton East and West.
Several non-certified hires were recorded, including food-service staff transfers and new full-time positions with effective dates where provided. Some appointments are marked "pending background check" or "pending background check and references" in the minutes.
