Tim Brown told the Infrastructure Committee the parish has about $700,000 in State Revolving Fund (SRF) grant money for repair and replacement of failing on-site systems and recently received an additional $263,000 from the EPA for repair and rehabilitation work—"so we've got close to 1000000 dollars now" to assist residents.
Brown also described a complementary monitoring activity: the Pontchartrain Conservancy will sample 20 locations across the parish each month for three years, but that sampling is pending EPA review of a quality-assurance plan. Brown said once EPA completes its review it should release funds for the monitoring effort, which staff intends to use to contextualize local inspection results.
