Hague planner outlines updated comprehensive plan; board sets Dec. 9 public hearing

Tracy Clothier presented the Town of Hague’s comprehensive plan update and reviewed demographic trends, survey results and a list of 10 signature projects the town will study further. Clothier told the board the town’s median age is “62.4,” and noted a long-term population decline and a relatively low share of children under 9 compared with county and state figures.

Clothier walked through priority projects including a beachside property feasibility study, historical museum expansion, visitor center assessment, town park improvements and a Hay Brook long-term management strategy. She said Warren County has approved the plan and the Adirondack Park Agency provided only minor comments; Clothier recommended a public hearing and a SEQR (state environmental quality review) consistency check before adoption. The board moved to set a public hearing for the comprehensive plan on December 9 at 6:00 p.m.; the motion carried with a roll-call the chair reported as “5 in favor and no abstention.”
