Council approves Park & Rec volunteers and seasonal hires; sets pay rates

The Redfield City Council approved a list of volunteers to be covered for workers' compensation purposes and authorized hiring for seasonal Park & Rec positions. The volunteer list (approved by motion from Jessi Lewis, seconded by Amy Akin) included a mix of staff and community members; the minutes list 15 names.
The council also approved hiring Brodie Boomsma, Camden Osborn, and Jackson Rude as Class 10 scorekeepers at $13.00/hour, Class 11 plate umpires at $30.00/game, and Class 12 field umpires at $20.00/game (motion by Dana Lewis, seconded by Brent Derscheid). The motions carried unanimously as recorded in the minutes.
