Under the ordinance, each residential unit within the city will pay $10.50 per month with their water and sewer charge. Commercial businesses within the city will pay $12.00 per month; commercial businesses outside the city will pay $15.00 per month. Residential units outside the city will pay $12.50 per month. The ordinance amends Section 8.12.100 of the Redfield Municipal Code and was presented as the second reading before adoption. "Motion by J. Lewis, seconded by Derscheid to adopt Ordinance No. 03-2025. Motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting 'Yes,'" the minutes record.
Hansen recorded the ordinance's effective date as Oct. 1, 2025 and the minutes state that the remainder of Title 8 and Chapter 8.12 remain unchanged. The minutes do not include projected revenues, cost estimates for landfill operations, or a fiscal analysis of the fee change.
