President Schmidt read Ordinance 1-2025, which would adopt the Town of Trappe's General Budget for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2025 and set tax and fee levels.
The ordinance as read establishes a residential tax rate of $0.33 per $100 of assessed real property value, a commercial/business personal property and public-utility tax rate of $0.75 per $100, and an annual residential trash-collection fee of $189.80. Commissioner Walter Chase moved to introduce Ordinance 1-2025; Commissioner Jeremy Newnam seconded and the motion passed unanimously. A public hearing on Ordinance 1-2025 is scheduled for May 7, 2025 at 5:45 p.m.
The Council did not take final action on the ordinance at the meeting; introduction places the measure on the agenda for the public hearing and subsequent consideration.
