The Jerseyville City Council voted unanimously April 15 to adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of Lovejoy Street in a matter involving Curtis Lee Johnson. Commissioner Zachary Crawford moved to approve the ordinance and Commissioner John Miles seconded; the roll call vote recorded all aye and the motion carried.
City Attorney William Strang summarized the area to be vacated and noted that a notice had been published as required prior to the public hearing. The council took the vote immediately after the hearing. No objections or public speakers opposed the vacation in the minutes.
