Council appoints Ben Swanson as Beacon city administrator; members ask for deputy backfill

Council then voted by voice to appoint Benjamin (Ben) Swanson, and Swanson thanked the council and staff for their support. "I am so honored to be appointed as the city administrator... I look forward to rolling my sleeves up and continuing the important work," Swanson said in brief remarks after the vote (appointment remarks SEG 2833SEG 2869). Council indicated they will post Swanson's resume and initiate a backfill search for the deputy city administrator role to preserve continuity of ongoing projects such as housing coordination and capital grants.
