Superintendent DeLeah presented an agreement with American Recreational to install a second playground at Silas Wood, adjacent to the existing structure. The project is intended to use the same structure type as the initial playground and, if the board approved the contract, could be ready by the beginning of the school year.
"This is an agreement to engage in a contract with American Recreational to install the 2nd playground at Silas Wood right in back of the school," DeLeah said, and added that the initial playground had been successful. The board approved the request by voice vote and staff said they would coordinate timelines to meet the school-year schedule.
The superintendent also reported broader construction progress at Memorial and other sites and noted the district will host ribbon-cutting events in late August and early September.
