The ordinance, introduced by Alderwoman Collins and read into the record by the clerk, revises Amsterdam City Code chapter 73-32a to codify the updated fees. As read aloud during the meeting, "The city of Amsterdam hereby establishes the annual fee for a dog license issued pursuant to 73-21 at $12 to which the amount shall be added $8 if the dog is not spayed or neutered." The clerk confirmed the public hearing had been held on April 21 before the council took the vote.
Council members recorded unanimous 'Aye' votes to adopt the ordinance; the clerk stated the law will become effective pursuant to the charter upon ratification. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the oral hearing portion.
