Notus council approves culvert analysis, adds Denver Avenue to scope

The Notus City Council on Nov. 7 approved a city engineer task order to inspect the town's culverts and produce a planning report, including load recommendations. Mayor David Porterfield opened the special session at 7:02 p.m., and City Engineer and Planner Antonio Conti told the council the inspections must happen before irrigation-water season to assess interior conditions.
Conti said the city has four culverts and recommended adding the Denver Avenue culvert to the list. Councilman Devin Krasowski moved to approve Task Order 24-01 for the culvert analysis, with Rob Hartsock seconding. Roll call votes recorded Krasowski: yes; Hartsock: yes; Steve Ahlborn: yes; Lupita Connor: yes, and the motion carried. Council members noted that Task Order 24-01 is intended to support a future planning grant and is not a construction contract.
