Public Works Supervisor Tyler Martin told the council that Well #2 tested high for manganese and arsenic and should be abandoned; Well #4 tested at 0.02 mg/L and is not classified as a contaminant at that level. He said Master Excavation and the Idaho Transportation Department suggested a full line replacement under the roadway to address a recurring leak on Elgin; Master Excavation will provide a quote.
Following that report, Councilman Devin Krasowski moved to submit a letter of interest for emerging-contaminant grant funding and for state revolving-fund (SRF) drinking-water financing; Council President Steve Ahlborn seconded and the motion carried on roll call. The council’s action authorizes staff to pursue grant funding and SRF financing to address water-quality and infrastructure needs.
