Ancram board votes to retain longtime pool contractor despite recusal

The supervisor moved to continue contracting with Jennifer Boyse as the pool director for the 2026–2027 seasons. The supervisor noted that Boyse Home Care became the contractor years before the Boyses became elected officials, and that the contractor provides hands-on services such as pre- and post-season cleaning, lifeguard scheduling and payroll. "They've consistently provided services... this was years before they became elected officials in the town," the supervisor said.

Councilwoman Boyse recused herself from the discussion. Multiple board members voiced support; the motion passed with vocal aye responses. Board members said geographic proximity and the contractor’s institutional knowledge (such as ability to respond quickly for issues like a super-chlorination) were decisive factors. No alternative contractor bids were recorded in the meeting.
