At the town hall, residents described weeks of traffic backed up on Park Lane during high‑school pickup and construction delays, citing buses blocked in parking lots and long waits of 15–20 minutes. "I was stuck there for probably a good 20 minutes," resident Henny White said, adding that school dismissal patterns and nearby construction exacerbated the problem.
Erin Johansen, ACHD business and community relations coordinator, responded that ACHD is aware and is working on signal timing changes during school hours, education programs for roundabouts, and coordination with ITD for Highway 44 intersections. She told residents that ACHD maintains a 5‑year plan for projects and urged use of the ACHD 'connect with us' portal — "someone will respond to you within 24 to 72 hours," she said.
Council members and the police urged temporary enforcement and education measures, including directed patrols and possible flaggers or parent volunteers for temporary traffic control during peak school times. ACHD confirmed a planned roundabout at Park and Floating Feather is under review, but said widening of Floating Feather is not currently in the five‑year plan. The city and ACHD agreed to continue coordination and to provide maps and information to the community.
