New Kent Board recognizes principals for Principal Appreciation Week and names Teachers of the Year

During its Jan. 13 meeting the board recognized principals for Virginia School Principal Appreciation Week and named school-level Teachers of the Year; Leigh Jordon was named Division Teacher of the Year.
Superintendent Dr. Brian Nichols recognized school principals in observance of Virginia School Principal Appreciation Week (Jan. 13–17, 2025), naming Dr. O’Dea (NKES), Tammy Krejcarek (GWES), Chris Pilger (QES), Dr. Frank Wheeler (NKMS) and Allison Strickland (NKHS).
The board also announced Teachers of the Year for each school: Sally Cochran (New Kent Elementary), Kelsey Schmidt (George Watkins Elementary), Lauren Laws (Quinton Elementary), Rachel Fini (New Kent Middle School), and Leigh Jordon (New Kent High School). The minutes record that Leigh Jordon was additionally named Division Teacher of the Year.
