The Assembly unanimously approved Resolution #2026-05 to authorize Director Hankins to purchase Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air tanks and face masks from Municipal Emergency Services (MES) for a total of $301,327. Director Hankins’ memo (in the meeting packet) notes MES is the sole authorized provider compatible with existing department equipment.
Funding for the purchase will come partly from a $225,000 Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) grant with the remaining $76,327 proposed to be drawn from general fund reserves. Assembly Member Jeff Meucci moved the resolution and Assembly Member James Valentine seconded it; the vote was unanimous.
