After prolonged discussion of FEAF Part 2 questions related to aesthetics and community character, the Ancram Planning Board did not reach a final SEQR determination at the Feb. 11 special meeting. Staff reminded the board that a negative declaration requires written findings supported by the record; a positive declaration would trigger an environmental impact statement and scoping.
A motion to schedule a follow-up working meeting for Feb. 26 at 6:00 p.m. passed by voice vote. Staff and consultants were asked to circulate the photo simulations and the DEC guidance excerpt read in the meeting. Board members were asked to come prepared to the next meeting with a written set of reasons tied to evidence in the record supporting whichever vote they intend to cast.
