County asked to remove inoperable 'yellow' siren amid safety worries

"The county needs to take the lead, get somebody to pluck that off the top of that pole," a meeting participant said while presenting historical paperwork showing Warner Harrison's name on prior documentation. Commissioners discussed unclear insurance records and whether the siren sits on county or city property; staff said copies of older files show the paperwork historically routed through county channels.
Participants debated removal logistics and equipment needs — estimates ranged from about 40 to 80 feet in height — and noted the county or its contractors, or utilities such as MDU, could be asked to help. Commissioners agreed to follow up with the fire department and utilities to arrange a safe takedown if the county assumes responsibility.
